    Wendi S.

Some people choose their careers. For others like Wendi, their career chooses them. Originally, Wendi relocated to Richmond as a pre-pharmacy student at VCU. After college and a number of years of retail experience, Wendi was introduced to the world of pet grooming. In 1995, Wendi helped to open The Dog House and began her career as a pet groomer. After eleven years of honing her grooming skills, Wendi struck out on her own, accepting a position at West End Animal Hospital. She added sister hospital Pets First part time in April of 2007, moving permanently to Pets First in July of that year. Wendi understands that she has two clients - the pet and their owner. She works to include both in her day to day routine. She has a particular fondness for grooming cats,  as well as one for dogs who might have been scared or viewed as difficult by a previous groomer.  With her gentle demeanor, Wendi puts your pet at ease during the grooming process. She shares her life outside of work with her Misfit Kitty Crew. When asked why: "I love my career because I can help animals feel better and look great, while making sure they are treated well."
