Courtney Blake, DVM, Medical Director

DVM, University of Minnesota

Dr. Blake has had a lot of life changes recently. In 2013 she married her wonderful husband, Mike, on a beautiful summer day surrounded by family and friends. In May 2014, their beautiful daughter, Sabrina, was born. In between those two life changing events, Dr. Blake and her husband decided to move to a new house. What a year! Dr. Blake is pictured with her two furry "kids", Ginger and Lucy. They were the first "kids" in her life and they are starting to accept their human sister. Dr. Blake enjoys camping and going for hikes in the woods. She also loves to travel and has hiked the Inca Trail in Peru, saw wild macaws and peccaries in the Amazon, penguins and whales in Argentina, toucans in Brazil, and worked with elephants and other species in Africa. She has also worked on lions, tigers and other big cats at The Wildcat Sanctuary here in Minnesota. Dr. Blake grew up in Chicago area and attended Augustana College before coming to Minnesota for vet school. She has been at VCA Cedar Animal Hospital since 2004 and loves the challenge of working with all the different species. She became certified in acupuncture to have another "tool" in her arsenal to help pets with pain and other conditions. She loves to learn and is constantly expanding her knowledge of new procedures that could be of help to our furry, feathered, and scaly friends!
