At VCA Market Street Animal Hospital we help dogs and cats live long, healthy and happy lives. Serving downtown San Diego and the surrounding communities of the Gaslamp, East Village, Little Italy, Bankers Hill, and the Marina; our veterinarians, technicians and pet-friendly support staff are here to ensure that our patients and their owners have the best care and support available.

Welcome! Located in the heart of downtown San Diego, VCA Market Street is a friendly, comfortable, state of the art, full-service veterinary hospital. Our caring and skilled veterinarians provide well pet and sick pet services, for puppies and kittens, adult dogs and cats, and senior pets. Our services include physical exams, vaccines, including vaccines, spay, neuter, dental care, surgeries, hospitalization, digital x-ray, and laboratory testing. Ask us about CareClub, the affordable monthly wellness plan. We carry Royal Canin therapeutic pet food, and a variety of treats. We strive to maintain a calm and friendly environment for both the animals and their humans, making sure everyone has an excellent experience.

  • Diagnostic and therapeutic services: For your pets' complete health-care needs.
  • Diagnostic imaging: On-site X-ray service provides high-quality radiographs essential for identifying problems that cannot be found by a physical examination.
  • Laboratory: In-house laboratory for serum chemistry and hematology for more urgent cases; we also utilize a commercial veterinary laboratory for routine and specialized diagnostics and consultations.Pharmacy: A complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, canine and feline heartworm preventatives, prescription diets, vitamins and shampoos.
  • Surgery/Dentistry: We are fully equipped to provide routine spaying and neutering, soft tissue surgery, dental evaluations and cleaning. We also provide dental X-rays to thoroughly evaluate crowns and roots of any problem teeth.
  • Pain management: Pain can accompany illness, injury, surgery, or chronic condition. Effective pain control is a vital part of caring for your pet and ensuring their comfort, quick recovery, and quality of life.

Lionbridge provides over-the-phone and video interpretation services for non-English-speaking and American Sign Language (ASL) clients. In real time, veterinary providers can enlist an expert Lionbridge interpreter to facilitate a clear exchange of information between themselves and clients. Lionbridge’s on-demand, remote interpretation services enable effective and accurate communication with clients. This service empowers clients to be heard and spoken to in their own language, which in turn facilitates a deeper understanding of the care your pet needs.
