BARCS - Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter

BARCS is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization operating Maryland's largest animal shelter and pet adoption center. We are an open admission shelter, granting refuge to every abandoned, neglected, abused, lost or surrendered animal that comes through our door. A staggering 30 or more animals are surrendered to BARCS every day. No matter what the circumstance, we do not turn away any animal in need of shelter, food, medical care and a loving touch. Yearly, this equates to more than 12,000 dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, and even wildlife and exotic animals that need care and placement.

Brandywine Valley SPCA

Founded in 1929, the Brandywine Valley SPCA exists to end animal suffering and to involve the entire community in the welfare and well-being of animals. Delaware SPCA

The Delaware SPCA is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of companion animals with their human caregivers and communities. They have been serving the state of Delaware since 1873. They promote the humane treatment of animals by providing adoption opportunities, low-cost veterinary services and educational programs. They do not receive federal or state funding, and there is no national SPCA. They rely primarily on support and donations from the community and individuals to carry on their work for the animals.
