Our Toms River Animal Hospital

Toms River Animal Hospital is a full-service companion animal hospital founded in 1956. We have been an AAHA-certified hospital for more than 50 years. Established in 1933, AAHA is well known among pet owners and veterinarians for its high standards for veterinary hospitals and pet health care. Our membership in AAHA helps ensure that your pets will receive the best care during their visits to our hospital.

Our services and facilities are designed to provide routine preventative care for healthy pets, early detection and treatment of disease as your pets age, and complete state-of-the-art medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime. Our eight doctors and more than 40 patient care team members use our more than 400 years combined experience in veterinary medicine to partner with our clients and help their pets lead long, happy, healthy lives. We strive to provide exceptional, individualized service to each of our clients and extraordinary care to each of our patients.

Upon arrival to our hospital, you will be greeted by a member of our reception staff. You will then be seen by one of our eight doctors in one of our five examination rooms. If your pet needs medication, we have a full pharmacy with a plantiful stock of veterinary medications. Does your loved one need diagnostics? We have a variety of options that can be performed in-house including digital radiographs (x-rays), ultrasound and echocardiograms as well as a laboratory capable of running bloodowrk on-site. Is your pet having a surgical procedure? We have a two-table sterile surgical suite on-site where your pet will receive optimal care from our technicians and surgeons. Your pet will be accompanied by a certified veterinary technician from their pre-anesthetic injections, through their procedure and post-operative recovery. During their procedure, you can find comfort in the fact that our certified technicians will use a variety of equipment to monitor our anesthetized patients during their procedure. Some of this equipment includes pulse oximeters for oxygen monitoring, EKG machines to monitor heart rate and rhythm, carbon dioxide monitoring of respiration, temperature monitoring to assure pets' warmth during surgery and blood pressure monitoring.

Although we hope that you are never faced with an emergency situation, our hospital is ready to handle emergencies at all times. We have a state-of-the-art oxygen unit, digital radiographs on-site (x-rays) with the capability to receive a board certified radiologist's report within twenty minutes, ultrasound and echocardiogram facilities, all on top of a laboratory to run bloodwork in-house.
