Caring for pets... and their people, too.

At the Toms River Animal Hospital, helping you keep your pets happy and healthy has been our passion for more than 57 years. Over that time, we have grown into a state-of-the-art pet care facility with an exceptional eight-doctor team. Our doctors use their more than 130 years of combined veterinary experience every day to help keep our patients in good health and feeling great.

We are committed to offering the best possible care for your pets. Our doctors strive to keep at the forefront of veterinary medicine to ensure we are offering the latest treatments and procedures available. Our exceptional physician team treats dogs and cats, as well as exotic pets. Our medical director, Dr. Richard Levine, will often tell us that if a client can fit his or her pet in the car, we can see and treat the pet. We also have an exceptional, board-certified internal medicine specialist on staff to help us keep your pets in great shape, inside and out.

Our services don't end at our hospital doors.  As a member of the VCA family, our veterinarians have access to extensive medical resources, not the least of which is the VCA knowledge base, which allows our doctors to tap into the collected knowledge of over 2,000 VCA veterinarians.

And if your pet ever needs truly advanced veterinary care, VCA Specialty Hospitals are ready to help.  These twenty-eight clinics provide state-of-the-art care in orthopedic surgery, physical therapy, advanced oncology, and even such cutting-edge treatments as stem cell therapy.

At the Toms River Animal Hospital, we love our pets. They're not just our pets, they're our family. Our patient care team's over 200 furry, feathery and scaly family members include more than 80 dogs, 90 cats and 40 exotics.

We all want our pets to live long, happy, healthy lives. We understand how important your pet family member's health is to you and we pledge to take care of them as if they were our own. Decades of Caring
Tina Karpinski from Toms River

38 years ago my parents started bringing our dogs to Toms River Veterinary Hospital. Over the years and many 4-legged family members later, I still bring my "babies" to Dr. Levine. Back then, it was Dr. Bernard Levine who successfully put a plate into our German Shepard's shattered hip. Now, it's Dr. Richard Levine I trust with my 3 rescued Newfoundlands. Everyone at TRVH is very compassionate, understanding and kind. They know our pets are members of our family and they are treated as such. When I am asked who my vet is, with pride I tell them, "I've gone to my vet for 38 years and wouldn't think of bringing my babies anywhere else...I bring them to Toms River Veterinary Hospital...because they're the best!"
