Why am I in this field? I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a Veterinarian. I grew up around many types of animals and have always had a deep love and respect for them. By nature, I am a nurturer and caregiver. Caring for others, (especially those that can't talk or care for themselves) makes me feel fulfilled. Animals do so much for us and it brings me joy to be able to give them something in return. In addition, I feel privileged to be able to witness the special bond created between an owner and their pet. In school, Science was always my favorite subject. The more I learned about the body and how it worked, the more interested I became in medicine. Problem solving and puzzling are hobbies of mine and I think of the body as one big puzzle. All of the pieces have to be put together correctly in order for it to perform well. Preventative medicine is very important but if there is a medical issue, I enjoy problem solving to figure out what is wrong and what we can do to make it better. Combining my love for animals, my desire to keep them healthy and my interest in medicine - being a Veterinarian is a natural fit for me.
