Dr. Aaron Howerton is a passionate veterinarian in small animal medicine emphasizing the intersection of animal wellness and public health. He pursued a Bachelor of Science, Master of Public Health and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri. With over 10 years of experience starting as a veterinary assistant, Aaron has developed a deep understanding of the human-animal bond. He believes in the importance of empathy and strives to provide exceptional care while forging lasting connections with both animals and their owners. Aaron joined VCA July 2023 and looks forward to creating lasting relationships with the team.

Dr. Aaron Howerton was born and raised in a small, rural town outside of Kansas City, Missouri, where his family still resides. He has a fluffy feline named Zoey, who can't go five minutes without attention. Outside of practicing high quality medicine, Aaron enjoys playing competitive volleyball, traveling and discovering new things. He looks forward to educating clients and helping surrounding communities bring health and wellness to their furry family members.
