Miss Bentley the Blue Weimaraner
Cherrise from Tacoma

I am new to the Tacoma area and took Bentley to a local dog park on Christmas Eve where unfortunately another dog bit her through the end of her ear. Everyone that knows a weim knows that they have long ears that are of course filled with blood vessels. After 10 mins of trying to get the bleeding under control and no luck, a kind woman at the park let me follow her to her vet (the VCA) and also called the VCA to let them know a hurt/bleeding dog was on its way in. As soon as I entered the vet I was met with the most caring staff I have ever met at a vet. They immediately took Bentley back and wrapped her ear to try to stop the bleeding and so Dr. Christensen could take a look at it. It was determined that Bentley would have to have surgery to stitch up her ear. After surgery was done Bentley then had to start the road to recovery, being a weim that was just over a year old and full of energy it was not easy to keep her calm so her ear could heal. After many trips back to the vet because Bentley would not let her ear heal, in the end the vet had to stitch her ear to the top of her head to heal, Bentley is now back to her normal self. Through this whole ordeal the staff and Dr. Christensen were so caring and nice, and made both Bentley and I feel comfortable. I really felt like the whole staff went above and beyond to help take care of Bentley. To make me feel even more, that they truly care for Bentley. I called about 3 months after the whole ordeal to ask about boarding her, and the woman on the phone remembered exactly who Bentley was and was so excited that they will be able to watch Bentley while I am out of town. I know she will get the best care in VCA's hands.
