Blues Story

Blues Story
My best friend came to me by pure luck. A friend of mine told me of these beautiful lab mix puppies that were looking for a good home and after seeing them I had to take one. as most dog owners will attest to, your dog is the best dog in the world and I am no different. He instantly became such an integral part of my life that I never wanted to think of when I might have to say goodbye to him. After about 5 years, that day came with surprising speed and I was woefully unprepared for what was to come.

Early in June I woke one night to see Blue in obvious distress. he had labored breath and seemed to be having stomach cramping. then the next morning everything seemed fine and he was himself again but that night the same thing. that day I got him into VCA pacific ave hospital, and we started the long process of determining what was wrong and what could be done. After the initial diagnosis of a foreign body in his intestine and him not improving with the given treatment and ultrasound was given and the revelation that came was very unexpected and crushed me, Lymphoma that had spread into his stomach and liver.

I will now split this story into the one I continue to write for blue and the review of VCA.

The true love and compassion for the animals that come thru the doors of VCA will never be in doubt to me. Dr. Christenson has been Blues doctor from the first day we came in and is one of the most thorough and caring people I have ever met. There is no doubt in my mind that she cares about blues health and well being just as much as I do. The other doctors and the staff that work along with her are just as impressive. everyone there has gone out of their way to ensure that Blue is happy and comfortable thru this long and hard journey he is on.

I know that some may say that VCA is expensive and to be honest I have no idea as to how they compare to others in terms of money. I have given up nearly everything I have to give my best friend the shot for a longer life that he seems to fight so hard for that the price, for me, has been a distant issue.

As Blue continues his fight, I can Imagine no other place that would treat him orme with such care and respect. I give my whole hearted recommendation to the Doctors and staff ant VCA Pacific Ave.
