Randy Pinkleton, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

Biography

Dr. Pinkleton enjoys small animal medicine and surgery. He has always loved being around, and working with, dogs and cats. He particularly enjoys training beagles. He grew up in Matoaca, Virginia and later attended Virginia Tech where he received a B.S. in Biochemistry and Nutrition. In 1981 he received his DVM from the University of Georgia (where he and Dr. Engel were classmates). At the University of Georgia he was awarded a Certificate of Merit for Proficiency in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery and the Jesse L. Roberts Award. Dr. Pinkleton has owned several veterinary hospitals and was Group Vice President over east coast operations for Veterinary Centers of America for three years. He has been an active participant and/or officer in a number of veterinary organizations. He was appointed by two different Virginia Governors to the Virginia Board of Veterinary Medicine for consecutive four year terms, and was elected President of the Board twice. Dr. Pinkleton has one cat, a Boston terrier, two Chihuahuas, one cockatiel, and several beagles (training beagles is his passion.)
