Biography
Dr. Elizabeth Phares, DVM has lived all over the United States, but spent most of her childhood in the Northeast. She earned her BS in Biology from SUNY Binghamton, then her veterinary degree from Tufts in 2009. She worked as a small animal vet in southern Illinois and on the border of Missouri and Kansas before returning to Massachusetts to join the VCA Montgomery Road team.
Elizabeth has always enjoyed spending time outdoors and training animals. As a teenager she was a member of a Junior Cavalry and raced sled dogs. Later she fell in love with working dogs on sheep after attending a herding clinic in Greenfield, MA. Now she raises and competes with Border Collies in sheepdog trials. She is also a volunteer with New England Border Collie Rescue. In the remainder of her time, Elizabeth gardens, rides her bicycle and tends to her farm animals.
