Compassion & Care at the End of Your Pet's Life

Because we form such a strong bond with our companion animals, the end of a pet's life can be a devastating experience. Everyone on the Loomis Basin staff knows firsthand the grief and hurt you may be experiencing.

Many pets that suffer with long-term chronic illnesses, such as cancer, benefit from our compassionate hospice care. We emphasize making your animal friend as comfortable as possible. As you know your pet best, our staff will work with you so that the transition is calm and peaceful. To further assist you during this time, our doctors have developed a guide called Assessing Quality of Life and this guide is designed to help with end-of-life decisions.

When the time comes, after considering your pet's declining quality of life and the state of his or her health, we can offer your pet humane euthanasia. Euthanasia literally means an 'easy and painless death'. You may know it as 'putting a pet to sleep' or 'putting an animal down'. You may be involved as much or as little as you would like every step of the way. You will have as much time as you need to be with your beloved pet so that you may honor the life of your companion and the friendship you built over the years.

We often find that following the passing of a cherished pet, clients look for a special way to honor their pet's memory. There are many types of memorials for your pet. Visit our Pet Loss area and you may find an appropriate way to honor your pet. Please ask us for suggestions.
