VCA Lewis Animal Hospital

Michelle Myers, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

DVM, University of Georgia

Dr. Myers joined VCA Lewis in 2001, and has been a wonderful part of our team ever since! She attended University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her degree in 1999. She also has a BA in biology from the University of Virginia. Dr. Myers has completed research on infectious diseases and feral cat colonies, and has a special interest in geriatric and internal medicine. She has four pets of her own at home: her two dogs, Brie and Mei Mei; and her cats, Nufie and Binty. In her spare time, Dr. Myers enjoys traveling, eating gourmet food, strolling through antique shops, and has a great passion for animal rights.

"Some people are defined by their jobs and some aren't. I don't think of veterinary medicine as my job; it's just part of me. I can't turn it off. As long as I can remember, I've had a visceral attachment to animals. I need them, and they need me. And I've known no greater joy than preventing and treating illness in dogs and cats. I'm grateful every day that I get to do this!"

Specialty Care

Sometimes sick or injured pets need the care of a veterinary medical specialist. When that happens, VCA specialty hospitals work closely with the general practitioner veterinarians who refer cases to us in order to provide seamless veterinary care to your pet. When your pet is facing any kind of serious illness or injury, our specialty referral hospitals will provide the compassionate and expert care your beloved pet needs.

Our goal is to make sure that when you and your pet are in need that you have access to board certified specialists who are up to date on the very latest developments in their field. In our state of the art hospitals, our specialists also have access to the most sophisticated diagnostic and treatment tools and techniques from ultrasonography and endoscopy to CAT scans and even MRI.

As part of the VCA family, we have over 83 specialty hospitals across the US and Canada which provide referral specialty care, so there may be one near you. Our specialized services include: behavior, cardiology, critical care, dentistry, dermatology, integrative medicine, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, radiology, rehabilitation, reproduction, and surgery.
