Biography
Dr. Rod Arad is a recent graduate from Kansas State University. Immediately after graduation he attended an exotic animal internship in Chicago where he was able to continue his study of exotic animal surgery and medicine. Ever since he was a child in Israel he has always had a fascination with exotic animals and started volunteering with a local zoo at the age of seven. While in veterinary school he used any free time he had to study with leading professionals in the exotic medicine field. Currently he is studying to become board certified in exotic companion mammals. In addition to a strong interest in exotic animals and wildlife, Dr Arad is also passionate about internal medicine, surgery, and acupuncture. Prior to becoming a veterinarian Dr Arad worked as a veterinary technician for 5 years and volunteered with several wildlife/rescue organization both in the US and abroad.
Dr Arad and his wife live with there three dogs and four cats that they rescued. In their free time they like to hike, travel, cook and read.
