Kathy Gagliardi, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

DVM, Colorado State University

Dr. Gagliardi was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado.  She grew up reading the James Herriot Books like "All Creatures Great and Small" and knew at a young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian who worked with a wide variety of animals.  She did her undergraduate study in Health and Exercise Science at Colorado State University and then continued her education at CSU in the College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated from in May 2010.  She moved to Lamar, CO in June 2010 and worked at a mixed animal practice where she enjoyed working with a wide variety of animals from horses to guinea pigs.  In November of 2011 she joined Centennial Valley Animal Hospital.

She thinks the best part of veterinary medicine is the amazing human animal bond that enriches our lives everyday.  She enjoys working with therapy dogs and loves to visit nursing homes with her dog Lucy.  She has a special interest in public health, preventative medicine, reproduction, internal medicine, and dentistry.  She is a professional member of AAHA, AVMA, and CVMA.

She enjoys spending time with her husband and her dog in the outdoors biking, hiking, and skiing.  She also loves to travel, volunteering at her church, and doing volunteer veterinary work in developing countries.  She has traveled to Africa five times and to Central America twice.  Her most recent trip was to Southern Sudan where she helped educate local shepherds on preventative veterinary medicine techniques.
