Makenzie obtained her BS in Art with a minor in Companion Animals from the University of Wisconsin in River Falls. Once completed, she started at VCA Bloomington in 2020. She moved out to California where she worked for VCA North Coast. Since June, she moved back to the Twin Cities and works as a client service representative with VCA Cedar.

Makenzie had an 8 lb. Flemish Giant/New Zealand rabbit named Biggie and a 2 lb. Hotot rabbit named Smalls whom she misses dearly. Her hermit crabs keep her company as she is currently furthering her education on the human medicine side. In her spare time, she's a hobby glass artist, reads books, and loves to hang out at the beach.
