Dr. Lagattuta is a New Orleans native. For high school she attended Mount Carmel Academy. It was during high school that she began working at Causeway Animal Hospital as a kennel attendant. Dr. Lagattuta attended Louisiana State University for 3 years of undergraduate learning before beginning Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. During her undergraduate years she continued working at Causeway Animal Hospital as a technicians assistant. In 2005, Dr. Lagattuta received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she returned to Causeway Animal Hospital where her journey in veterinary medicine began. Dr. Lagattuta now lives in Lakeview after repairing her Hurricane Katrina damaged home. She lives with her dog, Thai and her cat, Reese.
