Compassionate Care
Jackie from Philadelphia

I recently took my cat Harrison to the VCA after he was diagnosed with a urinary track blockage. It was the first time anything serious happened to my cat and needless to say it was an extremely stressful and emotional time. The team at VCA were all so supportive and kind from the moment I walked through the door. Dr. Simpson gave me multiple courses of treatment and explained to me, in detail everything Harrison would be going through. I had to leave Harrison there overnight, which was very hard in the moment. I knew he was in GREAT hands medically but after being emailed a picture of him resting well later that night, I knew he was in the hands of compassionate people who understand that our pets are our family. Sadly, I ended up having to put Harrison down. I can't describe how caring and supportive everyone there was when I arrived at the VCA. They knew why I was there and walked me through the steps of the appointment. They waited until I was ready. There was no rush to move onto the next appointment. I had the chance to say goodbye. After leaving the VCA, I was contacted by Harrison's doctor assuring me that I made the right decision and that she was there for me if I needed her. That gesture made all the difference in my grieving process. What a remarkable group of people they have working at the VCA.
