Caring for pets... and their people, too.

Located in historic Rittenhouse Square, VCA Cat Hospital of Philadelphia has been serving the Center City community for over 35 years. We are feline experts - our doctors and technicians pursue continuing education in feline medicine year round to stay abreast of the most current veterinary knowledge and technology.   Our hospital is feline friendly and stress free, and our goal is to make each visit by our patients as gentle as possible.  We strive to provide excellent patient and client care, matching cutting edge technology with compassion.

We provide a complete spectrum of medical care for all life stages, from kittens to seniors, and from wellness visits to urgent care.  We are knowledgeable about the most common disease affecting cats, including diabetes, heart disease, thyroid disease and kidney disease.

New to VCA?

We provide veterinary services for every stage in your cat's life, from her first shots to a lifetime of preventive care to keep her happy and healthy. We're also there for you when your best friend has more complicated medical conditions.  And we provide our care in a feline-friendly, stress-free environment - in fact, we're a Gold Level Cat Friendly Practice, as awarded by the American Association of Feline Practioners.

Our services don't end at our hospital doors.  As a member of the VCA family, our veterinarians have access to extensive medical resources, not the least of which is the VCA knowledge base, which allows our doctors to tap into the collected knowledge of over 2,000 VCA veterinarians.

And if your cat ever needs truly advanced veterinary care, VCA Specialty Hospitals are ready to help.  These twenty-eight clinics provide state-of-the-art care in orthopedic surgery, physical therapy, advanced oncology, and even such cutting-edge treatments as stem cell therapy.

VCA Cat Hospital of Philadelphia hosts some of the finest veterinarians and staff in the city. We truly exhibit "brotherly love" in our patient care and our client service. We are all cat lovers and serve as advocates for your cat's best interest. Our friendly and talented staff looks forward to meeting you and your special cat soon!

My cats feel comfortable there
Mary Jane McGuire from Philadelphia

I must admit that I have been to a few veterinary practices over the years, but they do not compare to the doctors and staff at the VCA Cat Hospital of Philadelphia. Just waking into their office I felt comfortable. The staff and technicians there are top notch. They have a way with cats and more importantly, my cats feel comfortable with them from my oldest 20 year old cat down to my 6 year old. I’ve been taking my cats there for quite some time now. I recently had various medical issues with my cats and for the first time saw Dr. Nathanael Oster for their care. As are all the veterinarians there, Dr. Oster is very kind and caring. He called and emailed me with test results and follow-up treatment. I wish my own personal doctor would take as much time with my care as Dr. Oster has taken with my fur babies.
