Jamie Hempen
Jamie attended the Registered Veterinary Technology program at Mount San Antonio College and graduated in 2007. Jamie obtained her Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) status in 2008. Jamie currently lives in Wildomar with her husband and baby girl. Jaime has four pets that she calls her "4 fur babies". Joey the beloved sheltie, Sampson the hyper Aussie, Havoc a sweet Maine Coon cat, and Mayhem a kitty rescued from the local shelter. Jamie has brings with her years of veterinary experience and an outstanding dedication to the field of veterinary medicine.

Devon Strege
Devon is California Oaks Animal Hospital's head Licensed Veterinary Technician. She has been part of the Cal Oaks team since 2005 and has been in the veterinary medical field since 1999. She graduated from Western Career College in San Leandro, California. Devon's animal family consists of dogs, cats, and a few exotics. What Devon loves most about Cal Oaks is that "our knowledgeable staff is so fun to work with and our quality of medicine is one of the best in the area! I love being a part of this team!"

Starra Weinberg
Starra became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2002, graduating from Mount San Antonio College. She has taken a few years off to raise her 3 children. Now that they are older, she is excited to re-enter the veterinary field and come back to Cal Oaks.
She lives with her husband, children, and many animal companions, including: terrier mix, 3 cats, 2 bunnies and a tortoise. -
Veterinary Assistant
Megan Hastings
After receiving her veterinary assistant certificate from Mount San Jacinto Center in 2011, Megan started at Cal Oaks. She plans on continuing her education to become a registered veterinary technician license.
Megan has 3 dogs, who she loves dearly, and also fostering pets. "I love the VCA Cal Oaks staff, it is such an amazing place to work!"

Ashley Marino
Ashley has been a VCA California Oaks Animal Hospital staff member since May 2007. The proud mother of Kelley and Allister, she also has 3 kittens at home. For Ashley, the most rewarding part of her job is, "building a relationship with our clients and their pets that is going to last a long time." She aspires to utilize her training and experience to attend college and become a veterinarian herself.

Melissa McCray
Melissa worked at Petco as a manager for 5 years. As the Petco manager, she had been working in partner with the Cal Oaks staff the last few years. She says she feel in love working with the staff at Cal Oaks and wanted to be part of the Cal Oaks amazing team!
When not at work, she spends time with her boyfriend and her Golden Retriever named Charger. -
Veterinary Assistant
Vicky Ramirez
Vicky jokingly refers to herself as "the grandma" at VCA California Oaks Animal Hospital, having been here longer than any other employee. She began work working here in 1998.
You will often see her as your pet's exam room nurse.
When she is not here, she loves spending time with her family, her Yorkshire terrier, and her exotic pets. -

Tawnya Whedon
Tawnya started working with California Oaks Animal Hospital since 2005. In addition to being one of our most diverse staff members, she has a passion for fostering and tending to abandoned animals. Tawnya and her husband currently have 11 animals at home.
