    Being raised on a farm, Starra has always had a love for animals. Starra's hobbies include, hiking, biking all over the states with her family and writing children stories. Starra became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2002, graduating from Mount San Antonio College. She had taken a few years off to raise her 3 children, but has been back at VCA California Oaks Animal Hospital since 2011.  Her furry companions include 2 dogs named Willow and Jaxon, 2 cats named Angel Cake and Tickle Toes . What she likes most about VCA California Oaks, "is the quality veterinary care that we give to every patient that comes into our hospital. My favorite part of working at VCA is monitoring anesthesia."

    Veterinary Tech School: Currently enrollend in Penn Foster Vet Tech Program

    Jessica has worked for VCA California Oaks Animal Hospital for almost two years. She also goes by the name "J.C." She has three kids of the human kind and one kid of the furry kind. She likes to spend her free time reading and going to the desert off-roading. "I am extremely lucky to work with the doctors here as well as the staff because they are not just co-workers, they are my extended family."

    Melissa worked at Petco as a manager for 5 years. As the Petco manager, she had been working in partner with the Cal Oaks staff the last few years. She says she "feel in love working with the staff at Cal Oaks and wanted to be part of the Cal Oaks amazing team!" She became a part of the team in 2011. When not at work, she spends time with her husband and her Golden Retrievers named Charger and Barkley.

    Veterinary Tech School: Platt College

    Monica joined the VCA California Oaks Family in October 2015.  She attended PLATT College in Riverside, CA to become a Registered Veterinary Technician.  She recently passed her National Exam and only has a few more steps in becoming an RVT.  Outside of the hospital she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the gym and spending her free time with her fiancé, Sean and two of their fur kids; Haven and Morgan.

    Cindy started her journey here at VCA Cal Oaks at the end of October 2014, after a 5 week externship which was required by the RVT program she graduated from. She loves working with animals and has two dogs named Kalani and Peyton.

    Vicky joined the Cal Oaks family in 1998 and she feels we are her home away from home.  Two of her many nick names is Grandma and Vicious.  She has a personal zoo at home (actually, they have her) that includes several dogs, birds, chinchillas, a guinea pig and a cat.

    Veterinary Tech School: Platt College

    Celina has been in the vet field since June of 2014 and VCA Cal oaks is her first hospital to work at. She became interested in veterinary medicine due to being in agriculture science in high school. After high school she studied at Platt college in Riverside to obtain her RVT license. She was hired a month after graduation here at Cal Oaks. She is currently in the process of studying to take her RVT national and state test. She has 4 dogs; a Chihuahua mix, wired hair terrier, German Shepard and a boxer-mastiff mix. She also has a guinea pig and a red ear slider water turtle. She loves Cal Oaks "because not only are we family oriented, we take our time in getting to know the clients and their pets. Working with animals is something I'd never want to give up." On her free time she likes photography, taking road trips, dancing, hiking and free rock climbing.
