Dental Care

VCA Briargate Veterinary Clinic offers advanced pet dental care for dogs and cats. Your pet’s dental care is an important component to their overall health care. Untreated oral health issues can develop into advanced dental disease and can cause additional health problems.

Your pet will receive a dental screening as a component of your pet’s wellness exam.

Pet Dental Cleaning and Treatments

Based on your pet’s dental screening, a routine cleaning may be recommended. We utilize the latest veterinary dental techniques to ensure your pet receives proper treatment.
For your pet’s safety and comfort, all dental cleaning procedures are performed under general anesthetic. Our veterinary dental cleaning includes:

  • Exam
  • Cleaning
  • Polishing
  • X-rays (if needed)

If additional oral health problems are identified during the cleaning, all recommended treatments will be explained to you, including a cost estimate. In most cases, any required treatment can be performed at the same time as the cleaning.

Your Pet’s Dental Appointment

All of our dental cleanings and procedures are performed under anesthesia. For your pet’s safety, please refrain from feeding your pet after 8 p.m. the evening before their appointment.
After check-in, your pet will be examined and pre-anesthesia blood work will be performed. Your pet’s safety and comfort are important to us, and we use the latest dental techniques and safety monitoring before, during, and after the procedure.

When your pet is ready to go home, we will carefully explain all post-treatment instructions. If post-operative medications are needed, they can be filled at our onsite veterinary pharmacy.
We strive to provide the latest in pet dentistry care for your pet. Please contact us to schedule an appointment, or to ask any questions you may have regarding our pet dental services.
