Biography

Dr. Vicky Nelson joined our team in 2008.  She obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Illinois in 2008. She completed her undergraduate and masters at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Nelson completed externships at the Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society, Colorado State, University of Michigan, and University of Missouri. Dr. Nelson also volunteered with the Rural American Veterinarian Service through the Humane Society of the United States, the University of Illinois Wildlife Clinic, and Veterinary Student Outreach Program.

Dr. Nelson is a member of American Veterinary Medical Association and Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association.

She enjoys practicing preventative care for companion animals and has a special interest in dermatology and emergency medicine. She shares her home with Tyler (mixed breed dog), Kopi (cat #1), and Maggie (cat #2), her husband, and two young children. Dr. Nelson enjoys the outdoors, athletics, and spending time with her family.
