Caring for pets... and their people, too.

In 2008, Dr. Winn and Dr. Augenstein were nominated for the Morris Foundation Veterinarian of the Year competition, and, in 2009, Dr. Winn was nominated for a second time. Even though they did not win, we are proud of both Dr. Winn and Dr. Augenstein for the honor they so justly deserved.

Local Medical Issues

There are numerous local medical issues that impact your pet's health. For example, the heat in the Nevada desert is extreme and can kill people and animals very quickly. Children and animals should never be left in an enclosed car unattended. When walking your pets outside, care should be taken to avoid hot cement, rocks, or gravel, as your pet could experience burns to the pads of its feet.

New to VCA?

We provide veterinary services for every stage in your pet's life, from her first shots to a lifetime of preventive care to keep her happy and healthy.

Our services don't end at our hospital doors.  As a member of the VCA family, our veterinarians have access to extensive medical resources, not the least of which is the VCA knowledge base, which allows our doctors to tap into the collected knowledge of over 2,000 VCA veterinarians.

And if your pet ever needs truly advanced veterinary care, VCA Specialty Hospitals are ready to help.  These twenty-eight clinics provide state-of-the-art care in orthopedic surgery, physical therapy, advanced oncology, and even such cutting-edge treatments as stem cell therapy.

The friendly, professional staff at VCA Black Mountain Animal Hospital is made up of dedicated individuals who have made it their mission to help pets live long, healthy lives. To be true to this mission, the hospital team relies on several individuals, each equally important in helping us deliver the best patient and client experience for both you and your pet.

And if things get complicated, we are fortunate to have access to the nation's largest network of VCA veterinarians and board-certified specialists. In a word: TEAMWORK!

Teamwork is a constant in our daily practice. From check-in to check-out, our team of pet lovers works cohesively to create a welcoming experience for both you and your pet.

This clinic actually cares about people and pets
Jessica Tirone from Henderson

I have been to many vets in my life and finally found one I will stick with. Dr. Winn and the staff @ VCA are nothing short of amazing. They cared for my sick kitty like she was their own. She was too sick and didnt make it but they did everything they could and gave information on how to proceed with cremation. I would not have been able to do this without their help. They helped us in our saddest days and that means the world to me. They made a huge impact on me and I cant thank everyone enough. I will not use anyone else for my vet needs and I suggest others do the same.
