Shauna was born in Oregon, and moved to Alaska after graduating high school in 1992. She married her husband in 2001 and they currently live in Big Lake, Alaska, with their one son. Shauna became a certified veterinary assistant in 2010. She started in veterinary medicine in 1997 and has been at VCA Big Lake Animal Hospital since June of 2016. When not working at the hospital, she helps her husband run his business and cares for their two German Shepherds, Toretto and Letty, a Yorkie mix, Riddick and their cat, Speedy. Shauna loves working with all the German Shepherds that come in to see her. She has been lovingly referred to, by family and coworkers, as the crazy shepherd lady or the German Shepherd whisper. She loves to help her VCA family grow and learn new things, or just be the shoulder they need on bad days, which has earned her the nickname "Clinic Mom," which is a title she wears proudly.
