Patricia Stevens-Kopf, DVM, DVM, Staff Veterinarian

DVM, Iowa State University

Dr. Patricia Stevens-Kopf was the Medical Director for VCA Animal Medical Center of Omaha for many years and retired in December 2014. But she just could not stay away for very long. When our regular staff veterinarians are out of the office for vacation or continuing education, Dr. Stevens-Kopf comes and fills in for them.  We could not be more excited to have Dr. Stevens-Kopf still on the team even if it is not on a daily basis.

Dr. Stevens-Kopf was born and raised in LeMars, IA. She attended Iowa State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science and then went on to attend Iowa State Veterinary School where she graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1976. Her first professional job became her life long home when she accepted a position in Omaha as a Staff Veterinarian at VCA Animal Medical Center of Omaha. She was named the Medical Director in 2001. Dr. Stevens-Kopf is a true trailblazer as she was the 2nd female veterinarian to practice in Omaha. She was named one of the Top 5 veterinarians in the region by VCA Leadership and continues to excel in her career.

Dr. Stevens-Kopf loves all dogs and cats (big and small) but she is passionate about poodles! She is a self proclaimed “foodie". She is also an avid birder and gardener. She and her husband Barry have one daughter who is also a Veterinarian-Dr. Kelli Kopf has a specialty in Neurology and NeuroSurgery and practices at VCA Alameda East in Denver, CO. Dr. Stevens-Kopf and her husband enjoy traveling-especially to the Caribbean in the winter.
