Discovering he could combine two of his greatest passions, healthcare and pets, by transitioning to veterinary medicine and joining VCA, Brent believes he has found his niche. With an MBA and soon to be doctorate in Business Administration, Brent will lean into his 10-year experience in the health sector to lead and manage the hospital's operations, where he intends to help generate growth, improve staff and client relations/retention and maintain fiscal stewardship. With a special interest in enhancing the employee experience through building team connectivity, we are fortunate to have a hospital director who values the importance of ethical leadership and a healthy work environment. Working as an Operations Manager at Oregon Health Science University and as a Clinic Manager at Legacy Health where he managed multiple outpatient internal medicine clinics, Brent is well-practiced in the art of operations, business strategy, and team leadership. In addition, Brent adds healthcare consultant to his impressive work history, offering local healthcare organizations expertise in both operations and business strategy.
Brent grew up on a large farm in Northeast Iowa, completed his undergrad in LaCrosse, WI, and moved to Portland, OR, soon after graduating in 2012.
When Brent is away from the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his five-year-old daughter, with a goal to inspire her in many facets throughout her life. He enjoys spending time with his dogs, Scout, Sophie and Odie, but also enjoys golfing, fishing, traveling, and conducting research.
