Pumpkin , Resident
NoneBiography
It is with sadness that we must announce that our beloved hospital cat Pumpkin has passed over the Rainbow Bridge. Pumpkin was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer with one of the senior wellness panels we recommend for all our patients. Unfortunately his condition was not treatable, and we focused on making his remaining time comfortable and giving him extra attention. As his time drew near he was surrounded by his VCA Wyoming family. We cried, and laughed, and shared stories.
In his heyday Pumpkin had the run of the hospital and would camp out at our front desk and greet clients as they came in. In the morning he would beg for treats from each of the staff members as they arrived. Sometimes he would get a wild hair and we'd see him race from room to room. Of course being a hospital cat has it's dangers, with so many unfamiliar dogs and cats coming in and out. Pumpkin seemed to know just how long a leash was, and would saunter just out of reach, enticing the pet until we shooed him away. In his later years he would sneakily wait for an open can of food to be left on a counter, then help himself to a meal that was not part of his "diet".
We will miss our little friend. Every now an again we think we catch a glimpse of orang out of the corner of our eye, sneaking up to a can of food, or racing from room to room.
