Kacie Martin, DVM, Medical Director

DVM, Colorado State University

I can honestly say I love what I do.  I knew when I was little I wanted to work with animals, I just wasn't sure in what capacity, so I started off working for our veterinarian in Clovis, NM in the kennels and fell in love with it.  I got paid to play with animals every day - best job ever!  I was fortunate enough to start helping from a receptionist/technician aspect and fell in love with the medical side as well.

I went to veterinary school at Colorado State University and completed an internship at VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital here in Albuquerque.  After my internship I accepted a position at VCA Wyoming Animal Hospital and have been here ever since - it's an amazing clinic and I am lucky to work with some amazing people!  I still love what I do - it's an incredibly rewarding job when you can help both people and pets.  I love watching kittens and puppies become cats and dogs and enjoy following them into their senior years.

I have a crew myself (of course)... 2 dogs, Jaxon and Dori; 2 cats - Howie, Phoenix, and Mikey; a few turtles - Durtle, Shimmy, and Mac; and Baby, a yellow-naped amazon, who stays here at the clinic (you may occasionally hear her while you are here, or over the phone as she likes to laugh, talk, or yell randomly!).

In my free time I enjoy reading, hiking and working out - I love the show American Ninja Warrior and love going to the Ninja obstacle gyms here in town (if I'm not at the clinic, you will typically find me there)! I also help the Bosque School with their ecologic monitoring program where we sedate and monitor the porcupine populations near the school. I also help at a vaccine clinic with Pets of the Homeless every month at the Rock at Noon Day shelter, where we provide vaccinations to the homeless community's pets.

We have a wonderful family here at VCA Wyoming Animal Hospital and we would love to meet you and your critters!
