Veterinary Tech School: Central Carolina Community College
Taylor joined VCA Wrightsville Beach Animal Hospital in March of 2014 after passing the Veterinary Technician National Exam, because she fell in love with Wilmington, NC. Taylor currently has a degree in Veterinary Medical Technology. She will be sitting for her NC State Board Exam in the near future which will allow her to fulfill her dream of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. During her years at Central she also worked as a kennel tech and was soon promoted to vet assistant for the duration of her education. Taylor is originally from Rocky Mount, NC and has always had a strong love for her four-legged friends. She attended Cape Fear Community College and obtained an Associate Degree in Art prior to tech school. When not at work you can find her on or near the ocean or working on art projects with her best friend, "Lil Homie".

Veterinary AssistantJillian Phillips
School: Laramine County Community College, Associates Degree in Equine Training and Management
Jillian joined VCA Wrightsville Beach Animal Hospital in December 2013. She recently moved from her hometown of Cheyenne, WY where she worked as a Veterinary Assistant for 2 years. She attended LCCC of Cheyenne, where she received her Associates Degree in Equine Training and Management. Jillian spent 6 years living in California working as a Marine Mammal Trainer and Zookeeper for a number of different aquariums and Zoos. On her days off she enjoys, going to the beach, riding and training horses and being with family, including the furry kind. Jillian's knowledge of domestic and exotic species makes her a valuable part of our VCA team.
Veterinary AssistantAmber Trout
Veterinary Tech School: Cedar Valley College, Distance Education Vet Tech Program
Amber joined the VCA Wrightsville Beach Animal Hospital in December 2015. She started working at Huffard Animal Hospital in Pasadena, MD at 19 years old and then moved to Texas a few years later. There she joined Country Club Pet Hospital for 12 years and became the Technician Supervisor. While working at CCPH she took on a second job at The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History where she was responsible for the live animals in the museum including a raccoon, opossum, prairie dogs, an alligator and over a dozen snakes and tarantulas. She is currently working on her AA in Veterinary Technology and her fields of interest are dentistry, cardiology, ultrasound, and exotic animals. When she's not working or in school she can be found with the love of her life Chris, spending time with their pets, at the beach, checking out the interesting historical sights of the Carolinas, trying new recipes and working on various projects. We are thankful to have such an asset to our hospital team!
