Biography

Dr. Anna Plowman was born and raised in a small town in the heart of England.  In 1993 her family moved to Newport, RI.  In 2001 she earned a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Rhode Island.  Her journey to becoming a veterinarian continued at North Carolina State University where she obtained a Master's degree in Animal Science, focusing on theriogenology and endocrinology.  After graduate school she attended Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine from which she graduated in 2008.  She spent the first 4 years working in the Raleigh area but missed the beach and ocean life, so she moved her family to Wilmington.  Dr. Plowman joined VCA Wrightsville Beach Animal Hospital in 2012.  Anna and her husband Ted have a young daughter, Aubrie, who keeps everyone on their toes, a German Shepherd, Phoenix, and a Flemish Giant Rabbit, Stu.  In her spare time she enjoys running, reading, and playing soccer.
