Pet Boarding

Boarding at VCA Worth Animal Hospital

We are always happy to care for your pet. Whether it be just for the day, a week, extended stay, or just a quick stop in for a bath and nail trim. For the protection of our boarders and patients in the hospital, the following are required and must be current at least two weeks prior to boarding.

Dogs:

  • Physical exam within the last year with one of our veterinarians
  • Rabies vaccine
  • Distemper/Parvovirus vaccine
  • Leptospirosis vaccine
  • Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine
  • Influenza vaccine
  • Negative stool sample within the last year
  • Flea prevention(Examples: Paradyne, Simparica, Simpleguard)

Cats:

  • Physical exam within the last year with one of our veterinarians
  • Rabies vaccine
  • Distemper vaccine
  • Negative stool sample within the last year
  • Flea prevention (Examples: Simpleguard for cats, Paradyne)

We provide bowls, blankets and beds. You are more than welcome to bring a blanket or toy from home, but please don’t bring a favorite, because sometimes things can get lost in the laundry. As hard as we try not to let that happen, we wash bedding frequently!

We recommend that you bring your pet’s own food, however we can provide dry and wet formulas for both cats and dogs from our hospital stock if you prefer.

  • Emergencies come up, so if your pet is not up to date on vaccines we may be able to vaccinate at admittance and isolate your pet from the general population (subject to kennel availability). An additional isolation fee would be applied.
  • Please note that there are additional fees for boarders that require daily medications, including diabetic pets.

To ensure your pet’s boarding admittance goes smoothly, when making a reservation please also reserve an admit time with a technician. This will allow a staff member to be available to go over any instructions from you and all of the necessary paperwork.
