Hey there! My name is Kate Freyling. I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician here at VCA Woodland. I am also our Technical Supervisor. I have been an LVT since 2006, graduating from Baker College of Muskegon. Working at Woodland always offers a new adventure in animal care because we see every thing from dogs and cats to birds and snakes. I am constantly challenged with new and intersting cases and love the variety of my job.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family. Right now it is just my husband and I with our cat, "Tonka" and our dog "Beck". Beck comes to work with me every day and hangs out in the office with us. Maybe you have seen him napping in the Tech Office if you have taken a tour of the clinic!

My most rewarding case at work over the past several years has been helping a patient overcome a hit by car injury where we needed to amputate one of her hind legs. After a complete recovery and returning to normal life (besides getting around on 3 legs- which she does amazingly well with!) she was diagnosed with a type of cancer called lymphoma. Her owner decided to treat her cancer with chemo-therapy and we got to see her often enough to develop a very close relationship with both the patient and her owner. Her joy of life and her owners commitment to her has a very special place in my heart!
