David Durham, DVM, Associate Veterinarian
David Durham
Biography
I grew up in Flint, Michigan and always wanted to be a veterinarian. I began observing at a veterinary clinic while attending high school and quickly became excited about an MSU education in veterinary medicine. Dr. Gregory Boggs and his staff of Heritage Veterinary Hospital helped nurture my interest in medicine and animal husbandry at age 15. My family was very excited to support me during my years at MSU-they were all pulling for me during the entire 7 years and their support helped me to become the first university graduate in our family. After attending MSU from 1980-1987, I moved to Grand Rapids and began working as an associate DVM at The Animal Clinic under the guidance of Dr. Dick Bennett and Dr. Arch Conkey. Soon thereafter, I was hired as an associate DVM by Dr. Ed Farnham and began my career at Woodland Hospital for Animals in 1989.
At VCA Woodland I have had the opportunity to treat many pets and I enjoy working with cats, dogs, reptiles and small mammals.
This veterinary career has been, and still is, a blessing to me. It has been my passion for 45+ years and I am thrilled to be able to work with pets and their people in a beneficial and rewarding health care collaboration. It’s fun everyday and I really feel as if we are making a difference in the lives of our friends and community members. Thank you for the opportunity.
