Jennifer "Kippy" York, DVM, Staff Veterinarian

DVM, Tufts University

Dr. York grew up in Eastern Pennsylvania. She knew she wanted to be a Veterinarian since childhood. She was inspired to become a veterinarian by her dog Barney and animal caretakers that mentored her in the past. These mentors include several wildlife rehabilitators as well as a veterinarian she assisted in Russia while in the Peace Corps. Their dedication and insight, even under the most difficult financial and emotional circumstances, inspired her to join their ranks.

Dr. York Graduated from Tufts University of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and has a B.S. degree from Pennsylvania State. She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angell Animal Medical Center, Western New England.

Dr. York has special interests in exotic medicine, shelter medicine and ophthalmology. One of her most memorable veterinary experiences was diagnosing a hamster, named Joey with dilated cardiomyopathy (a type of heart disease that causes the walls of the heart to stretch thin) and starting him on treatment for heart failure.

Dr. York shares her home with Odo, a German Short Haired Pointer and Moonshine, a Siamese cross kitty. In her spare time she enjoys bird watching, painting, reading and live music.
