Helen Kennedy, DVM, Medical Director

Dr. Helen Kennedy received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, with honors, from Oregon State University in 2008.  Helen joined VCA Westmoreland Animal Hospital in June 2008 and is now the Medical Director.  She grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she began volunteering at veterinary hospitals at age 12.  She ventured to the Northwest for college and received her B.S. in Biology from Portland State University.  She worked as a veterinary assistant/technician for 10 years before relocating to Corvallis to study veterinary medicine.  Dr. Kennedy has special interests in internal medicine, preventative medicine and behavior. She is an active member of several veterinary organizations and enjoys staying up to date with the latest veterinary research.  Outside of the hospital she enjoys hiking, camping, biking and traveling with her husband; they share their home with lab-like “Cypress.”
