Our hospital offers many orthopedic surgery services. If your pets experiences and knee ligament injury (for example, a cruciate ligament tear), procedures such as an extracapsular repair may be recommended. Dislocating (luxating) knee caps (patellas) may sometimes require surgery to minimize pain and improve your pet's quality of life. Fractures may be repaired either surgically or managed with splints. Severe hip dysplasia or dislocation may require a femoral head and neck osteotomy (FHO). If our veterinarians are unable to identify or repair the source of your pet's orthopedic problem, they may recommend referral to a specialized veterinary orthopedic surgeon. Please ask our staff about our orthopedic services if you have additional questions.
