    Bridget Monson, BS, MHA
    School: University of Minnesota

    Bridget Monson was raised in Minnesota. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management in 1993 with a Management and Finance Degree. She completed her Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration from Carlson School of Management in 2006. She started her career working in healthcare management at specialty clinics including Occupational Health, OB/GYN and Dermatology. Bridget had an opportunity after graduating with her Masters Degree to join the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center as the Specialties Manager. She was promoted to Director of Small Animal Receiving Services. In 2009, she was part of the team of veterinary professionals that opened the first BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Minnesota. Bridget returned to the Veterinary Medical Center in 2011 as Director of Customer Service.

    Bridget is excited to become part of VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital and bring her 25 years of healthcare management, client service and finance experience to the team. Bridget has two adult children and two dogs. Zeus is a 14 year old American Eskimo and Hercules is an 8 year old Papillon Eskimo. Bridget is a sports enthusiast and will forever be a Minnesota Gopher fan.

    Samantha Howe

    Samantha was born and raised on the east coast before moving to Los Angeles. She began working at a local veterinary hospital as a front office staff member shortly after relocating. Samantha continued her veterinary education and worked her way up to a supervisory role and eventually a management role. After managing a small general practice facility, Samantha was invited to join the VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital management team. Her professional interests include staff development and providing an exceptional client experience through staff training and education.

    Samantha enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband, daughter, and greyhound mix “Crenshaw.”

  • Office Manager

    Bryce Hershenow, RVT

    Bryce Hershenow was born and raised in Sacramento, California. He began working at a 24 hour emergency practice in 2009 as an assistant, shortly thereafter he realized he had found his passion and became an RVT. Bryce continued his veterinary education and training working as a supervisor at Atlantic Street Pet Emergency Center while working for the University of California, Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in Small Animal Anesthesia, and a specialty and referral practice in San Francisco as a supervisor and referral relations manager. In 2015 Bryce moved to Denver, Colorado and worked in critical care medicine at a local specialty hospital, while going back to school for health care management. When Bryce moved back to California, he knew that he not only wanted to continue his management career, but he also knew he wanted to be a part of the VCA West Los Angles Animal Hospital team. Bryce is very excited to be one of our Co-Office Managers, and looks forward to growing with the hospital.

    Outside of work you can find Bryce exploring beaches and hiking trails with his dog, Foley.

    Brittany Hwang

    Brittany Hwang is a Los Angeles native who graduated from UCLA with a major in biology and minor in art history. She has always had a strong interest in animals and volunteered at the West LA Animal Shelter during school. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she then began her career in the veterinary field in general practice as a receptionist and was soon promoted to a shift lead. She was particularly interested in helping open new hospital locations and onboarding/training new associates. She then continued her career path as a client care department lead and extended her veterinary experience to a specialty and emergency animal hospital, ultimately bringing her client experience skills to VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital as a Co-Office Manager.

    Outside of work, Brittany enjoys indoor cycling, cooking/baking and hiking with her two Boston Terriers, Bella and Ducky.

    Bill Farr is Facilities Manager at VCA West Los Angles Animal Hospital.

  • Purchasing/Pharmacy Manager

    Melissa Gillett

    Melissa began working for VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital in October 2003, directly after graduating from Pharmacy School at United Education Institute. She is now head of the Pharmacy department, supervising the day-to-day operations. Her duties include, but are not limited to, filling medication refill requests, answering clients’ questions regarding their pets’ medications, filling our Cubex machines, and assisting clients at check out.

    In her spare time Melissa loves spending time with her husband Jerrell, two boys Jerrell Jr. and Jayden, and her furry daughter, Ivory (her Malti-Poo). They love playing baseball together, going to the beach or trying out different restaurants!
