Biography

Dr. Sammie "Faith" Hughes was born in Bainbridge, GA. After graduating from Bainbridge High School, then attending Bainbridge College, she transferred to Auburn University. Faith graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine cum laude in 1990. After working 2 years at Haines Road Animal Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL, she moved back to Bainbridge and worked at Allied Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Tallahassee in 1992 and 1993. On her days off, she did relief work at area veterinary hospitals. Relief work is what brought her to Crawfordville. In 1992, Dr. Jolly Rogers of Forest Animal Hospital (now VCA Wakulla Animal Hospital) needed heart surgery and Dr. Hughes performed relief vet services for him. She never left Crawfordville!

Dr. Hughes is married to Bobby Inlow (also from Bainbridge) who is a police officer at FSU. They have a daughter, Libby. Their family also includes 2 cats (Junie B. Jones and Ollie), 1 labrador (Rocky), and 1 cocker spaniel (Woo), a Lhasa mix (Precious).

Faith is a small animal veterinarian who works on dogs and cats. Her fields of interest are preventative health care, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, some orthopedic surgery, ultrasound and shelter medicine. She is also volunteer medical director for CHAT (Citizens for Humane Animal Treatment) which is Wakulla County's local animal shelter.
