I first met Dr. Kruse when my 4-year-old Rex bunny developed a lump above his eye. He was diagnosed with a form of cancer rarely seen in rabbits. Dr. Kruse's care and compassion helped me get through this terrible time. She operated on him and removed a large portion of the tumor, but the cancer had spread too far. My little boy made it till just after his 5th birthday. Dr. Kruse gave me one more month with him and I will cherish this for the rest of my life. She has never forgotten about his case. My bunnies have always liked her too, often running around her feet while waiting their turn to be seen. Thanks

I was unexpectedly at VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital this morning with a sick kitty. We have to wait to see if the blood tests can tell us why he’s not been in the mood to eat or drink for the last three days.
In the meantime, though, I wanted to let you know what a terrific "consumer experience" Boo and I had. When I called this morning, the woman I spoke to was understanding and was able to get me in for a 10:00 am appt, the person at the front desk was welcoming and empathetic, Rebecca was terrific taking our information and handling an uncooperative Boo, and Dr. Simonelli took her time with us, provided some insights, and left me feeling less panicky.
We’re all too quick to complain when our experiences are unsatisfactory; so, I wanted to take a moment to share a good experience with your shop. Well done.

For many years, Poodle Rescue of New England has trusted VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital to provide our rescue Poodles with high-quality, experienced care. Rescue dogs have often experienced neglect, abandonment, and even abuse. Many require extensive medical care. The VCA staff understands the special issues that face rescue dogs, and they try to create a comfortable and low-stress environment in the examination rooms. The veterinarians always take the time to carefully examine each dog and provide us with detailed explanations of appropriate treatment options. They don't hesitate to step forward and offer assistance at critical times. For example, the hospital provides medical boarding for dogs that are not immediately able to be placed in foster homes, and the VCA staff has volunteered to provide at-cost spay/neuter procedures when we rescued a large number of dogs from a breeder. VCA Wakefield's compassion and generous assistance enables us to continue to provide our rescue dogs with the care they need to be ready for placement in their forever homes.
