  • My Guinea Pig Max

    -Sharon Richards from Nashua, NH
    Pet Name: Max

Pet Image I just wanted to send a thank you to VCA Wakefield. My Max was so sick and I didn't have much money, and you still allowed me to go in and try to help him. It didn't end the way I would have liked, but I wanted to thank the staff for their kindness and understanding. I am broken hearted about my little friend, but I know if anything could have been done, your team of professionals would have done it. Thank you again.

  • Phantom's Story

    -Stephanie from Saugus, MA
    Pet Name: Phantom

I first met Dr. Kruse when my 4-year-old Rex bunny developed a lump above his eye. He was diagnosed with a form of cancer rarely seen in rabbits. Dr. Kruse's care and compassion helped me get through this terrible time. She operated on him and removed a large portion of the tumor, but the cancer had spread too far. My little boy made it till just after his 5th birthday. Dr. Kruse gave me one more month with him and I will cherish this for the rest of my life. She has never forgotten about his case. My bunnies have always liked her too, often running around her feet while waiting their turn to be seen. Thanks

  • My Bun

    -Tracie Dudevoir from Lynn, MA

I have been taking my Bunny to VCA for a little over a year now and I just want to say, everytime I call them, they are helpful with advice and always willing to see her, I had to have her seen last Friday and they fit her in within an hour, the staff and Dr's are wonderful, I love taking my precious little Bun there.

  • Staff And Doctors

    -Jenn from Lynn, MA
    Pet Name: MAX

Pet Image I love VCA of Wakefield I have been taking my pug max here for about 5 or 6 years now, he is 10 years old. The care they give my dog is wonderful. Dr. Rousseau is the BEST, he makes max and I feel comfortable. Thank you all for what you do.

  • Terrific Consumer Experience

    -Dan Salera from Ipswich, MA
    Pet Name: Boo

Pet Image I was unexpectedly at VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital this morning with a sick kitty. We have to wait to see if the blood tests can tell us why he’s not been in the mood to eat or drink for the last three days.

In the meantime, though, I wanted to let you know what a terrific "consumer experience" Boo and I had. When I called this morning, the woman I spoke to was understanding and was able to get me in for a 10:00 am appt, the person at the front desk was welcoming and empathetic, Rebecca was terrific taking our information and handling an uncooperative Boo, and Dr. Simonelli took her time with us, provided some insights, and left me feeling less panicky.

We’re all too quick to complain when our experiences are unsatisfactory; so, I wanted to take a moment to share a good experience with your shop. Well done.

  • Responsive and sensitive staff

-Elisabeth Pelletier from Hampton Falls, NH
    Pet Name: Wink

Pet Image VCA Wakefield's staff is the most responsive and sensitive collection of people from the office staff right on up to the doctors. Dr. Rousseau and his staff have provided my family pets with the greatest of care. I have always been comfortable discussing treatment options and have truly felt that my ideas have been heard. I have relocated to southern NH, but continue to travel to VCA Wakefield for my pets care.

  • President, House Rabbit Network

    -Suzanne Trayhan from Wilmington, MA
    Pet Name: Tanya

Pet Image VCA Wakefield has several exotic veterinarians who have taken
wonderful care of our rabbits. They handle all our advanced cases
that most other hospitals cannot treat and always seem eager to learn.

  • Pet Owner

    -Chuck Willand from Reading, MA
    Pet Name: Sheila

Pet Image For our collection of particularly needy animals, VCA Wakefield fulfills their veterinary requirements with professionalism and compassion. VCA’s medical and administrative staff respond quickly to our questions and requests for appointments, handling both emergencies and routine examinations promptly. The docs and techs work together as a dedicated team, consulting frequently with each other as necessary to determine a correct diagnosis and appropriate course of therapy. As a result, pets whose lives would otherwise have been drastically shortened have enjoyed healthy lives well beyond our expectations.

  • President, PAWS

    -Susan DiMeo from Reading, MA
    Pet Name: Four kittens

Pet Image The VCA Wakefield doctors, manager, and staff have been instrumental in helping PAWS to save hundreds of lives. Despite the fact that our PAWS pets are technically homeless, and that we are a non-profit, all-volunteer organization, VCA always provides top-notch services and promotes what they believe is best for each individual animal and situation that we bring to them. Having partnered with VCA Wakefield for almost ten years now, I am confident that together, we will continue to improve the lives of our local animals-in-need and, when applicable, their humans. Thank you, VCA, for always being there for us!

  • Poodle Rescue of New England

-Laura Klein Plunkett from Somerville, MA
    Pet Name: Nicky

Pet Image For many years, Poodle Rescue of New England has trusted VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital to provide our rescue Poodles with high-quality, experienced care. Rescue dogs have often experienced neglect, abandonment, and even abuse. Many require extensive medical care. The VCA staff understands the special issues that face rescue dogs, and they try to create a comfortable and low-stress environment in the examination rooms. The veterinarians always take the time to carefully examine each dog and provide us with detailed explanations of appropriate treatment options. They don't hesitate to step forward and offer assistance at critical times. For example, the hospital provides medical boarding for dogs that are not immediately able to be placed in foster homes, and the VCA staff has volunteered to provide at-cost spay/neuter procedures when we rescued a large number of dogs from a breeder. VCA Wakefield's compassion and generous assistance enables us to continue to provide our rescue dogs with the care they need to be ready for placement in their forever homes.
