Our Hospital

Now open seven days, we offer a full range of services for cats, dogs, small mammals, reptiles, and birds. Although most clients come from Lynnfield, Melrose, Reading, Saugus, Stoneham, Wakefield, and Woburn, many drive up from Boston or down from New Hampshire to see one of our seven doctors.  We offer wellness care, treat diseases and injuries, and perform complex dental procedures and surgeries. Typical dentals include cleaning and polishing, full-mouth digital x-rays, and -- if necessary -- extractions. We also provide pharmaceutical products and pet foods, and acupuncture is available by appointment.

VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital is an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association, an honor awarded to fewer than 12% of North American veterinary hospitals. To maintain our accreditation, AAHA conducts regular inspections to ensure that we maintain the highest standards in patient care, diagnostics, housekeeping, and record-keeping. Our doctors and staff work hard to provide the very best in veterinary care, and we're proud that we passed our August 2014 inspection with flying colors.

Obedience training

Could your dog use lessons on coming when called, walking nicely on a leash, not jumping, or improved listening skills? We now offer a basic manners class that meets for five weeks and costs only $120. Classes are held on Sundays, and you can reserve your space by calling Melissa McCue-McGrath at 617-861-7846.  Classes are limited to six, so make your reservations now.
