Certified Veterinary TechnicianPatricia Ortiz
Veterinary Tech School: Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology
I grew up in the Palm Bay area and am a true Floridian. I have always loved animals and wanted a career working with them. This started the journey in becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. I love having a career that utilizies my skills, lets me share my knowledge with clients, while working in an environment with other people that love animals too. We are all helping them to live longer healthier lives. I thrive on advancing my knowledge and skills and want to be involved with verterinary medicine for years to come. There is nothing quite like assisting with the birth of either puppies or kittens, unless it is helping to save a life in an emergency situation. I love to know at the end of each day that I personally made a difference.
When not at work I love spending time with family and my own pets. I enjoy riding, reading, being outdoors, riding bikes, and researching additional continuing education that will enable mee to better assist with your pets.

Jacie moved here from Alabama where she worked in the ICU unit of Auburn's College of Veterinary Medicine. While she loves Florida, she is a devoted fan of the Auburn Tigers.
She had many pets in her childhood. They became many times her very best "buddies". Just being with them made her heart happy, and she realized that this was the calling of her life: to learn about, care for, and share with others those things that would keep the mutual "Best Buddies" with their families for as long as possible. She understood the human animal bond long before college, and it set the foundation for her career.
Jacie has a special interest in critical care and knows that maintaining a positive and calm attitude makes our patients and their "parents" less anxious. The extra cuddle, kind word, and comfy blanket make a difference when in the hospital. Understanding the angst of the "parents" makes her a patient and gentle communicator.
Jacie comes to work every day with a smile and positive attitude. She knows that she makes a real difference in the care her patients recieve. Knowing she contributes to the quality of life and the education of the clients is what drives her on a daily basis.
When not working she enjoys motorcycle riding (with helmet), good music and celebrating life with family and friends. One of her favorite quotes is " Be good to people. Life is to short, and happiness is only real when shared"
I am Kerry and have been with Village Animal Hospital since 2011. While I am a technician, I am also the supervisor of the boarding kennel because it is my personal goal that every pet that stays with us, feels like they have a home away from home. If that means extra play time or get cuddles to feel safe and secure then I will do what ever needs to be done. Cookies and kind words make all the difference to our guests. If their is something else your "kids" need just let me know. I have a very special affection for those kitties that need some quiet reassurance time and go out of my way to make sure they get some extra activity time if needed. That saying "Cat's Rule---Dogs Drool" can be so true....no offense, I love the pups too!!!! Just ask Toby"Bites" (a fond nickname) and his brother Louie, Lexie or Muffin, Bisquit,Maggie and Millie Ann, Micah, Mosake and Kino, Bruce and Sadie....just to name a few....it makes me giggle when their parents return and their kids like they jusy going home home from "camp".
Kerry is mature and thoughtful, and has a willingness to help everyone in the hospital. She takes exceptional care of the boarding guests, because she knows that extra attention when away from home is critical to their comfort. She makes sure they each get plenty of TLC and play time. She has 2 cats named Mao and Mushi that she adores. In her spare time she is an avid reader , when not sharing time with her family.
