His off time interests include mountain biking, scuba diving, camping, and aquaculture. He sets the standard for the highest caliber medical care practiced. Veterinary School: Araneta University in the PhillippinesDr. Barry Cole was the founder and original owner of Village Animal Hospital. He continues to practice medicine here. Dr. Glenda Paredes, DVM
Veterinary School: University of FloridaDr. Glenda Paredes has been with the practice since 2008. She has an impeccable work ethic and practices cutting edge medicine. Dr. Paredes pursues her Continuing Education with a passion, and provides her clients with the most current information available so they are able to make informed choices for their pets. She is the proud momma of a bunny named Blueberry and two chihuahuas named Nico and Simba and a dachshund mix that she rescued named Olivia. She also has a Packman frog. Her off time activities include salsa dancing, spending time with her family, travel, and constantly maintaining continuing education. Dr. Paredes is Bi-lingual---and speaks Spanish fluently.
Special Interests: Dr. Parades has a very special interest in exotic animal medicine, including reptiles, rabbits, and other small mammals. She is very interested in oncology and chemotherapy, as well as pain management and surgery. See Less

Dr. Carrie Sherwood, DVM
Veterinary School: University of Illinois at Urbana-ChampaignDr. Sherwood is the newest addition to our Veterinary staff. She has been with us since 2008 and has fit in perfectly. She has a smile that engages clients immediately and puts them at ease because they sense her genuine concern for their pets. She treats each and everyone as if it were her own, and believes preventative medicine is vital to quality of life. See More It is not uncommon to have her checking on her patients after hours or on her time off. She has a wonderful sense of humor and a passion for making a difference in her patients lives. She is the momma of 5 dogs,Lilypad--a Chocolate Lab, Ducati--an Italian Greyhound, Clover and Violet--both mixed breeds, and Niko--a Siberian Husky. She also has a kitty named Herbie, a mouse, a Bearded Dragon, and several turtles. All have been rescued and saved from poor fates. In her spare time she enjoys travel, outdoor sports, dancing, cooking, and her family.
