    Dawn Thomas
School: Florida State University, Social Science and International Affairs

I was born in Indiana and have lived in Florida for the past eleven years. I have always had pets of my own and love them dearly. After attending college (majored in International Affairs and Social Sciences), I returned home and took what was supposed to be a temporary position at a veterinary hospital. I found that I loved working in the animal hospital and made the decision then and there, that this was really the career for me. I come to "work" everyday and know I make a difference to and for people and their precious pets. I love helping clients anyway I can, and totally love meeting their furry family members. I have a mixed breed dog named Sidney and 3 cats, named Elliot,Izzy, and Archer that make my house a real home. In my spare time I enjoy decorating, doing landscapeing, and writing poetry....and am proudly published in about 11 books.

You are the reason I come to work each day. I know how important your pets are to you, and want to do what ever I can to help.

    Jackie Woodson

Jackie is considered one of the pillars of the hospital. She has been with us since 1996 and is still as energetic as ever. She works up in the reception area doing what comes naturally to her---making sure our clients are comfortable and feel welcomed. She has a never-ending work ethic and is tireless. There is nothing she is not willing to do to try and help clients or the support staff in anyway she can. She is bi-lingual, which helps immensely with our Spanish speaking clients. Jackie is also a Federally and State Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator (now retired). She is Native American and served with the Coast Guard in her younger years. She has a grown son, so her two cats-Tully and HotRod are her babies....along with a Squirrel (Fuzzy)  She is very active in the community with many projects, and in her spare time enjoys gardening, cooking, boating, and helping with Native American Educationals as well as school presentations on wildlife.

She says "I simply have to work in the field of veterinary medicine so I can help all creatures and their "parents". I get up each day and come to work because I love my work, the hospital, and my clients. It is really all about the clients and their pets!!!"
