VCA Veterinary Medical Center

Brandy Kastl, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

DVM, Oklahoma State University

Prior to Dr. Kastl joining our team here at VCA Veterinary Medical Center, she worked with VCA Cat Hospital of Tulsa.

While she has learned a great deal about working with cats only, she desperately missed working with dogs and their owners as well. Her love for both cats and dogs has brought Dr. Kastl to join our team.

Like a lot of little girls, Dr. Kastl developed a love of animals as a child through a strong attachment to Cocoa, her Arabian gelding. His untimely death in an auto accident led her to make a commitment at the age of seven to “not let another little girl’s best friend die”. This event was the driving force for her dedication to become a veterinarian. Although she isn’t treating horses now, protecting the relationship between pets and their families is still the primary goal of every case she sees.
Dr. Kastl graduated from veterinary school at Oklahoma State University in 2010. During veterinary school, she was active in the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Business Management Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, Omega Tau Sigma and served as class treasurer. After graduation, she completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Oklahoma State University

Dr. Kastl and her husband, Brian, welcomed their first son, Jacob Andrew, in October of 2011 and a daughter Emily Reagan in July of 2013. Currently they all share their home with three cats (Helix, Magnus, and Phoenix) and two dogs (Prairie Belle and Dex).
