A 5year veterinary program at the University of London's Royal Veterinary College in England was completed in 2004. Prior to joining the our team, Dr. Kompel worked for a small animal practice in her hometown. She took part in rescue and feral cat programs such as the grey hound rescue and FOCAS (Friends of the Bergen County Animal Shelter). She spent about 3 years at the Emerson Animal Hospital before making her move to southern NJ.
She now lives in Burlington County with her dog Hendon and six furry kids; her cats Tom, Sophie, Sabras, Clark, Pita, Tegan and Hobbs. Tegan and Hobbs are purebred classic silver tabby British short hairs from England. Tom is a rescue from the FOCAS program. Sophie is a rescue from an animal shelter and Clark was adopted through Vetco's VAF program.
When not practicing veterinary medicine Dr. Kompel enjoys traveling, cooking, and reading. She's walked the Great Wall of China and made her way to the top of the Masada in Israel.
