While mending a broken hip they managed to get her relaxed and purring which has never happened at any doctors appointment under the best of conditions! Amazing Skills and Staff

Pet Name: LaylaLast year when our puppy broke a bone in her knee, Dr. Jackson worked with us to find a reasonable solution in the middle of the holiday season, even though we were totally unknown to him and his staff. While most vets have to refer patients to specialists for the type of surgery she required, he has the expertise to perform the surgery himself. She was treated very well, appeared to be comfortable and not in pain (while not being drugged and drowsy from painkillers either), and has recovered with no problems whatsoever. It is as if she never had an injury. Dr. Jackson is a genius! Really, this dog is "like new." Also, when I arrived at the clinic the day of her injury extremely upset, the staff at Dr. Jackson's office were absolutely amazing - just the nicest people. They helped me get the puppy out of the car and carried her in, they got me coffee, they talked with me...I wish my own doctor's office was so accommodating! Anyway, long story short, I will never go to another vet for our pets, unless we move out of the area.

UVC is the best

My dog Leroy has a tendency to break frequently ..whether he drinks too much water while swimming or chips a tooth on a stick, the staff at UVC have been there to fix him back up. One day I was in a panic and called Dr. Jackson's cell phone. I was not sure whether to rush Leroy to an emergency clinic or not but less than a minute later Dr. Jackson called back and met me at the clinic when I needed him the most. To him medicine is a 24 hour job without complaint. What other clinic goes that far to help :) -

Thank you for the considerable kindness you showed our family when our much loved dog, Oliver, died. You were so very kind to Doug and me when we brought him in for euthanasia, and your consideration shown to our daughter has been invaluable.
As you know, we were quite worried about our daughter's reaction to Oliver's death. The "I Remember My Special Pet" book that you gave us for her and the angel pin were exactly what she needed to work through her sadness. Because of the book, the pin and the grief materials, we were able to help her celebrate Oliver's life and come to terms with his death fairly quickly and in a positive way. She began to work on the "I Remember" book as soon as we returned home from your office and worked on it while wearing the pin. The morning after Oliver's death, she got up bright and early and finished the book before she even had breakfast. She shared the book with her class that week in school. Similarly, she wore the angel pin every day for a week straight. While we all still miss him, she is no longer tearful and can remember the happy times rather than just the suffering and sadness of his final week.

I am a final year veterinary medical student at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, India. During my summer break in July 2011, I completed a three week externship at VCA University Veterinary Hospital under Dr. David Jackson to gain hands-on small animal clinical experience.
I have benefited a lot from my externship under Dr. Jackson, who provided me with real-world work experience in small animal veterinary medicine. The exposure and experience I received from him during my externship was extremely valuable. He really went out of his way to make sure that I was learning and benefiting from the externship. He’s an excellent veterinarian and teacher, and always willing to answer any questions and taught me the latest techniques and advancements in Veterinary Medicine. I really liked the way Dr. Jackson emphasized the importance in client communications, which gave me the real understanding of how the veterinary clinical system works in the US. Dr. Jackson is very good at what he does, and interact with all kinds of clients, both on a professional and personal level. Client communication is a very important part of being a veterinarian, and it’s not something that is emphasized in veterinary school.
This externship has educated me with a clear idea about how a well-functioned veterinary hospital operates in the US. The entire staff at the VCA University Veterinary hospital was very helpful and friendly. I wish I could have spent more time there. Dr. Jackson and his entire staff maintained a very congenial work environment, even during hectic and busy times. I am thankful to the entire staff of the VCA University Veterinary hospital for taking the time to share their expertise and knowledge with me. The staff was most responsive to my requests and always made me feel like a full-time member of the group. -

My Long Term Vet of Choice
-Valerie Short from Fairfax, VAI want to comment on the excellent care my two cats and we (my husband and I) receive at VCA University Vet Clinic in Fairfax.
My kitties were rescue and I have been patients of Dr. Jackson's for over fifteen years. This fact alone speaks volumes as I have no hesitation in changing doctors for my pets as many times as necessary until I receive the care, attention and concern they deserve.
This clinic runs flawlessly. Denise and the rest of the support staff are highly efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Prepare to be greeted with open arms. They know me and my pets by name!
Dr. Jackson is very warm with the pet parents as well as the pets. He has a calming and reassuring demeanor and takes the time to explain thoroughly your options. He has genuine love of all animals and is very nurturing. "Doc" (as my husband calls him) makes follow-up calls to talk about test results and for the answers to any question we may have.
This clinic is really a personal care center for people and their pets. Excellent, top rate medical care. -

Calling the office frantically thinking my cat needed to be put to sleep did not even scare them away! From the second I walked in the door they were willing to help with whatever I needed (and also calm me down I swear they should be therapists). The manager of the clinic was very sweet, and extremely helpful to me. Then came Dr. Jackson who is honestly an amazing vet and person, he is so truthful about everything he does and I am so greatly appreciative of it! I will never go anywhere else again!!!
