Tara Miller, DVM, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Miller and her dog "Missy"
Biography
Dr. Miller was born and raised in the Northeast. From a very young age she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian, which led to her obtaining her undergraduate degree in animal science from the University of Vermont.
Before applying to veterinary school, Dr. Miller worked as an emergency veterinary technician for many years. During this time she fell in love with emergency and critical care medicine and knew this is what she wanted to pursue after veterinary school.
After attending veterinary school at Kansas State University, Dr, Miller completed a rigorous small animal rotating internship with a concentration on emergency and critical care in San Diego at the Pet Emergency and Specialty Center.
Dr. Miller joined VCA TLC in 2010, as one our staff emergency doctors and she has special interest in neurology and trauma cases.
In her free time she loves to go hiking and to the beach with her two German short-haired pointer rescues (Missy and Holly (“Goat”). She also enjoys photography, ice skating and horseback riding.
