Certified Veterinary TechnicianMaria
Maria has always wanted to work with animals. She attended Bel-Rea Veterinary Technician School and graduated in September of 2016. She completed her internship at VCA Alameda East Specialty Hospital, passed her National Boards and became a Certified Veterinary Technician. She later joined the VCA Thornton Animal Hospital team as a technician. Some of the things she most enjoys about her job are getting to assist the doctors and providing care for sick pets, and the most rewarding part for her is getting to watch them go home. She has three dogs; Bailey, Saka and Max, and hoping to add a Chihuahua or two of her own to the gang.

Angelica "Gel" is one of our very skilled veterinary technicians here at VCA Thornton. She was attending PIMA Medical Institute when she did her externship here at VCA Thornton, it was then that she decided that she would like to continue her career with Thornton as a technician when she graduated and we agreed that she would be a great fit and an asset to the team. She joined our team in July 2013 and never looked back. Her favorite part of her career is veterinary dentistry, and helping people and the animals they love. Away from her hospital family, she has 2 sons and 2 cats "Karma and Pepper". She enjoys going to the movies with her boys, dancing with her friends and also enjoys poker and board games.

Veterinary Tech School: Bel Rea
I graduated from Colorado State University with an Animal Science Bachelor degree in 1987. I was never able to use my degree and ended up working for a medical manufacturing company for 15 years. I was layed off from my job and decided that I did not want to work in manufacturing for the rest of my working career, so I decided to go back to school. I went to school at Bel-Rea Institute and received a Veterinary Technician Associate degree in 2015. I am very happy to be spending the rest of my working career by working with animals and people who feel the same way that I do.
