  • Hospital Manager

    Karen .

Karen is originally from New Jersey, but after moving to South Florida as a child, started her veterinary career at the age of 15 as a kennel attendant. Since the decision to make this her life long career, she has held positions as a receptionist, veterinary technician and technician supervisor before being promoted to practice manager at VCA Academy Animal Hospital in Coral Springs where she worked for almost 20 years.

Karen joined VCA Stoney Creek after moving with her family to South Carolina and happily commutes to be part of such a great team. She shares her home with two cats Paws and Caboose (abandoned by train tracks) and "Karma", a new black lab puppy.

In her spare time Karen enjoys reading, time at the beach and spending time with her two children Michael, age 14, Hailey age 9 (future Veterinarian hopeful) and her loving boyfriend Joseph.

" I enjoy not only spending time with the pets at our practice but being able to lead such a dedicated and fun staff committed to providing quality medical care.  It is a blessing to have a job you truly enjoy coming to every day"

  • Assistant Manager

    Joel .

Joel has been with us over 8 years and takes great pride in keeping such a clean and organized kennel. He enjoys caring for your pets and loves giving them the opportunity to play in our Doggie Day Care area. Over the years Joel has not only bonded with the pets at our practice, but also knows most of our clients by name! In his spare time Joel loves spending quality time with his wife and new daughter at home.  In addition to Joel's supervisor role in the kennel, he was recently promoted to assistant hospital manager and adoption coordinator where he helps more pets find loving homes through a partnership with The Humane Society of Charlotte.

"I enjoy working at VCA Stoney Creek because I love the interaction with the clients and animals.  It's the best of both worlds.  The satisfaction of an owner after their pet had a great time in Doggie Day Care or boarding is very rewarding."
