Biography

Dr. Rachel Meyer joins the Stirling Square team from Seattle, Washington where she worked for a 24 hour VCA practice for over eight years. Having graduated with honors from Stanford University, Dr. Meyer worked for many years in the animal welfare and sheltering field in Washington, D.C. She graduated from Cornell University in 2001 with a doctorate in veterinary medicine, and completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery in California the following year. Dr. Meyer is interested in emergency medicine, surgery, and geriatric companion animal care. She is particularly interested in the human animal bond, and has performed at-home euthanasia, house calls, and pet loss grief counseling for over ten years. In her spare time, “Dr. Rachel”, as she likes to be called, enjoys swimming, scuba diving, traveling, and spending time with her fiancé and their four animals. She is thrilled to relocate to South Florida and join such a great team at VCA Stirling Square.
