Kennel AssistantAbie S.
My name is Abie and I am a Kennel Technician here at VCA Stirling. Like most of the staff here, I have a great passion for animals. I love being able to help not only the pets, but the owners that care so much for them. I am Currently working on my Associates in Zoology and am hoping to work with large exotic animals one day. Since I was little I have been eager to find out as much as I can about Earth's creatures so that I can do what I can to help them. At home I have a corgi-mix named Grace, a boxer named Molly, and a cockatiel named Milo.
Kennel AssistantCandice S.
My name is Candice and I am one of the kennel assistants here at VCA Stirling Square Animal Hospital. I am currently working on getting my associates degree in veterinary technology, and afterwards I will take my board exam to become a CVT ( Certified Veterinary Technician). My passion for animals started when I was 5 years old when I received my first dog which was a poodle terrier mix. Growing up, I had the pleasure of also having 2 parakeets and a bearded dragon. Currently I have another poodle terrier mix named Daisy. I love them all and I look forward to meeting you and your pet and treating them as if they were my own!
Kennel AssistantErika S.
My passion for animals started early, I always knew I would eventually be working in the animal field. Throughout my life, I have owned everything from exotic reptiles and marsupials to Toy Pomeranians and Doberman Pinchers. You name it, I've probably owned it! As of right now, I have 6 Madagascar Giant Day geckos, a 5 foot Ball Python, a Tea Cup Chihuahua named Coco, a Pitbull named Roxy, 2 birds and an Electric Blue Dwarf Gecko. I love all of my animals both big and small, so when I joined the VCA team I was beyond excited. I am very grateful to be in a field that I'm so passionate about. You know how the saying goes, "Choose a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life".
My name is Sarah and I have been grooming for 11 years. I started working in a groom shop in 2005, a year after I graduated high school. I always knew I wanted to work with animals but I was never sure what profession I wanted to be in. I tried a couple desk jobs out of high school and found that they really were not my preference. I then found a job as a dog bather, and after a few weeks they decided to send me to grooming school. Once I started I fell in love with it! I had a knack for making dogs beautiful, and I couldn't ask for a better job! It really has never felt like work to me. I went through a typical grooming school, and then furthered my education with videos, books, seminars, and lots of practice! I am a firm believer that there is always more to learn. And there are always new and better ways to do things. I have been working in a few different salons since I started. My favorites have been the smaller businesses where I can focus on each pet and client. I like to be able to spend time with each dog and not rush my work. The dogs are so much happier for it! I have quite a few clients who have a hard time getting their pups to leave, they like spending the day with me so much. I have been around animals all my life. My family always had cats, dogs, fish, and birds. After I got out of high school I started rescuing cats. I did so for quite a few years, and had quite the collection furry kitties! I found every single one of those babies a home, about 25-30 of them. I lost count after a while. Some of the best memories are from those days. Believe it or not, I used to be an all cat person until I started grooming, and then ended up loving dogs too. After grooming for a few years, I decided it was time to get a dog. I saw a mini aussie in a pet store one day and knew I had to have one. I got my very first dog 4 years ago and named her River. Best decision I ever made. And of course I couldn't stop at just one! I currently have 3 miniature Australian Shepherds. River, Rayne, and Rebel. They are such amazing little dogs and I love taking them everywhere with me.
